Step 5 - Report results: interpretation and implications: Project management is the process of managing and controlling a project to ensure its success. One key part of project management is monitoring and controlling the project's progress. This includes setting up a system to track the project's progress and regularly analyzing that data to ensure that the project is on track. If there are any problems, corrective action can be taken to get the project back on track.

This requires creating a schedule and management plan and then controlling and monitoring the project. For example, if you have three tasks due in one day, you would need to set priorities to make sure that you complete the most important task first.


In conclusion, by monitoring and controlling your project, you can get ahead of schedule and ensure project success. Establishing a baseline and scheduling management plan is critical, as is implementing and tracking the schedule. Scheduling tools can help you manage changes, and by being proactive you can avoid many common problems. Some have argued that these two monitoring mechanisms operate as substitutes[43] as one type of organization would decrease the advantages of using the other one.


In multi-phase projects, the monitoring and control process also provides feedback between project phases, to implement corrective or preventive actions to bring the project into compliance with the project management plan.

We must be diligent in tracking performance to see if it meets our expectations for success. If not, we must determine what is needed to keep the project on track."


Project managers depend on monitoring and control to track, review, and report on project performance. They rely on this phase to make informed decisions, avoid crises, and maximize performance and opportunities.


Successful projects require diligence and precision in monitoring and control, so having the right strategy can make all of the difference. A good monitoring and control approach looks at quality, risk, and stakeholder engagement levels and communicates all project outcomes.


Project management can be understood as a systematic way of planning, scheduling, executing, monitoring, controlling the different aspects of the project, so as to attain the goal made at the time of project formulation.
