Download EXE File - Easy and Convenient Way to Get Windows Programs

Acronym of Executable file, EXE file format is mostly used for programs on DOS, Windows, and other platforms. EXE files contain resources, bitmap graphics, icons, and other components for running an executable program that also resides in the exe file. This format can be compressed with executable compressors like runtime packers and can be extracted back using CUP386 and UNP. EXE file format is widely used for containing millions of software programs on different platforms. CorelDRAW is a powerful application for accessing the contents of an EXE file.

I cant download .exe files via firefox. I can download other file types..(ex. pdf, txt) I am also able to download EXE files via other browsers, (IE and Chrome). I have Refreshed Firefox, and Reinstalled Firefox. I have cleared the mimetypes. please let me know if you have any other thoughts.

In the past, some users have created a new environment variable, using a batch file, to point Firefox to a different temp folder location. I haven't tried that myself. Here's an example thread from another site about that:

thanks again for the replyI am unable to start this computer in Safe mode. it is an IT manages system and bitlocker data encryption is enabled, and will not boot in any other mode without getting key codes from IT to enable other options.I have confirmed that there are no group policy items specific to firefox or downloading .exe.

I have checked with IT, and they have confirmed there is nothing browser specific configured. (im able to download EXE's with IE and Chrome on this machine)I am also able to download exe's from other machines running firefox in our office, just not on my primary machine, and cant for the life of me figure it out.Are there any other suggestions? (in the mean time i will try to get into safe mode to confirm.)

getting closer.we have Semantic Endpoint protection enabled.(still attempting to get IT to disable this short term to test)I found a log file that shows that, even thought my "downloads" directory is set to C:\Users\\Desktop the initial download is attempting to go to c:\Users\\AppData\local\Temp\. and this appears to be a protected directory.

I have an HP Pavilion dm4-2070us computer running Windows 7. I have the same problem with internet explorer and with Firefox. The file seems to download but never finishes; it is not in my downloads folder.

If executable file downloads fail from certain sites but you are able to download exe files from other sites, check in "Internet Options -> Security - > Restricted sites -> Sites" to make sure that the problem site is not in the "Restricted sites" list, as the security level for that zone is High by default. Some Security software, including Spybot S&D, add known malware sites to that listing.

Method 1 did not work even though that is what I use on my other HP computer (an HP dm4-2070us) without any problems. Using Method 2 Custom settings and changing launching applications and unsafe files from Disable to Prompt (recommended) solved the problem. Thanks, you are a genius.

Correct, HTTPS inspection filters can match categories/domains/IPs/applications. HTTPS inspection will be applied for the configured filters and CWS proxy will be able to identify exe files in inspected traffic. Such traffic will be matched by already configured web filtering rule to block exe file download.

For some reason when I try and download EXE files with Chrome the file downloads and then I get a message stating that the download Failed - Virus Detected. I have tired disabling the Protect you and your device from dangerous sites option and that didn't fix it. This must be a setting in Google Chrome since I can download the files in Internet Explorer and Firefox. I tried disabling my Antivirus and that didn't help. I tried disabling Windows Defender as well and that didn't fix it either.I am running Windows 10 PRO and using Google Chrome v66.0.3359.181 . We run Kaspersky Endpoint Security Antivirus.

I am in the process of scanning my PC for Viruses. There are no other indications that my machined might be infected. The error I am getting isnt from Kaspersky. I have seen errors on other PCs when Kaspersky detects a malicious file. This is not like that. Its some setting or something in Chrome. I did do a reset on Chrome back to defaults but still am having the issue.

We have a web application which allow users to download documents from SharePoint. Recently we have received a requirement to enable downloading .exe file. But on clientContext.ExecuteQuery(); I am getting following error. Moreover, while retrieving file extension is coming as aspx instead of .exe.

I was using a movie streaming website, (the ones with all the pop-up ads at each click). Usually I just close the ad and nothing happens but recently when the ad pops up a .exe file is downloaded and luckily Chrome stopped it as it was labelled dangerous. I'm just curious as to how a file is automatically downloaded without my permission and what I can do to prevent it?

Webpages are made full of tags and attributes which isn't limited, but pop-up windows work differently than normal tabs in the sense that these pop-up screens were already triggered by a click when you see a file is downloading in the pop-up screen, this could have been triggered in a normal browser tab.

So it isn't like you need to see a new window first, then click somewhere in that new screen and the download will start. People can program those attributes to instantly download in a new window instead.

I have a large collection of Windows exe files which are being stored/distributed using Amazon S3. We use signed URLs to control access to the files and this works great except in one case when trying to download a .exe file using Internet Explorer (version 8). It works just fine in Firefox. It also works fine if you don't use a signed URL (but that is not an option).

For Windows users, after the Eclipse Installer executable has finished downloading it should beavailable in your download directory. Start the Eclipse Installer executable. You may get a security warning to run this file. If the Eclipse Foundation isthe Publisher, you are good to select Run.

Do more than just open and view PDF files. It's easy to annotate documents using sticky notes, type text directly onto the page, add bookmarks, highlight, underline, or use strikethrough tools, and even draw on the screen with a freehand drawing tool.

Acrobat is connected to Adobe Document Cloud, so you can work with your PDFs from anywhere. You can even access and store files in cloud storage solutions like Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, or Microsoft OneDrive.

You can't download Windows .exe files in Safari on the iPad so even if you did tap on the link thinking that you were downloading the file - you really didn't download it, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Chromebooks run on the Chrome operating system and allow you to install Android apps. However, they can't run Windows apps by default and therefore they can't execute .exe files. This is why one of the most commonly asked questions among Chromebook new users is how to open exe files on their Chromebook.

Yes, you can run .exe files on a Chromebook with the right tools, even when not running Windows. Exe files are primarily designed to run on Windows, but there are multiple ways of running the .exe files on Chromebook like using third-party apps or accessing Windows computers remotely.

What's important is to follow the instructions on how to run exe files on Chromebook carefully. You should be able to use programs on your notebook that weren't previously available for the Chrome OS.

Build products are named using one of the following templates: sqlite-product-version.zip sqlite-product-version.tar.gz sqlite-product-os-cpu-version.zip sqlite-product-date.zipTemplates (1) and (2) are used for source-code products. Template (1) isused for generic source-code products and templates (2) is used for source-codeproducts that are generally only useful on unix-like platforms. Template (3)is used for precompiled binaries products. Template (4) is used forunofficial pre-release "snapshots" of source code. The version is encoded so that filenames sort in order ofincreasing version number when viewed using "ls". For version 3.X.Y thefilename encoding is 3XXYY00. For branch version 3.X.Y.Z, the encoding is3XXYYZZ.The date in template (4) is of the form: YYYYMMDDHHMMFor convenient, script-driven extraction of the downloadablefile URLs and associated information, an HTML comment is embeddedin this page's source. Its first line (sans leading tag) reads:Download product data for scripts to readIts subsequent lines comprise a CSV table with this column header:PRODUCT,VERSION,RELATIVE-URL,SIZE-IN-BYTES,SHA3-HASHThe column header and following data lines have no leading space. The PRODUCT column is a constant value ("PRODUCT") for convenientregular expression matching. Other columns are self-explanatory.This format will remain stable except for possible new columnsappended to the right of older columns.Source Code RepositoriesThe SQLite source code is maintained in three geographically-dispersedself-synchronizingFossil repositories that areavailable for anonymous read-only access. Anyone canview the repository contents and download historical versionsof individual files or ZIP archives of historical check-ins.You can also clone the entire repository.
